IFF Council of ESG
  • IFF Council of ESG
  • ESG is an acronym for Environmental, Social and Governance, an investment concept and corporate evaluation standard that focuses on the environmental, social and governance performance and impacts of a company rather than its financial performance. Based on ESG evaluation, investors can observe the ESG performance of companies and assess their investment behaviour and the contribution of companies (investment targets) in promoting sustainable development and fulfilling social responsibility. As the global challenge of climate change is becoming pressing, the concept of sustainable development has deeply rooted in people's minds. The specific work and information disclosure related to ESG has become unavoidable for enterprises and various financial institutions, especially listed companies.
Promoting comprehensive sustainable development and green finance has always been the agenda for the IFF, which has set up the IFF Council of ESG and organized the annual IFF Global Green Finance Awards and Green Finance Summit. The IFF Global Green Finance Award has become an achievement for ESG practices in the disclosures of many Fortune 500 companies, including Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and CitiBank. The IFF has joined hands with the Paulson Institute, the China Listed Companies Association, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PwC and decades of institutions contributing to the building of ESG disclosure standards through academic conferences and joint research and to promoting the improvement of related regulatory mechanisms.
