PERMANENT SITE

The IFF permanent site is located at No.1 Nansha International Financial Island of Nansha District, which is the geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Guangzhou Municipal Administrative Center. Close to Hong Kong, Macao and Shenzhen, it stands as an international landmark of Greater Bay Area development. Set at the gateway to the South China Sea, the permanent site embraces a global perspective in collaboration with Hong Kong and Macao. With the design concept inspired by the blooming kapok and flying bird, the permanent site fully embodies the splendor of Guangzhou, which is known as the ‘city of flowers.’ The exquisite modeling and smooth lines of the architectural form make for an exquisite combination, appearing from afar like a blooming kapok swaying in the wind and a huge bird unfolding its wings to soar high at the close look. The inaugu of the IFF Permanent Site also showcases the swift development of Nansha, which has been instrumental in developing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which faces the world and the future.

With a total land area of approximately 200,000 square meters and a gross floor area of some 250,000 square meters, the IFF Permanent Site is home to an international convention center and affiliated hotel, service apartments, and a mansion for visiting dignitaries. The facility mainly serves as a composite convention venue with supplementary functions such as banqueting, a media center, exhibitions, and business accommodations. It comprises 3,000-square-meter conference halls, 3,000-square-meter banqueting halls, two 1,600-square-meter multi-functional halls, dozens of small- and medium meeting rooms, and 13,000-square-meters of exhibition space. Catering to the future development need, the permanent site, in addition to hosting major IFF events, could also undertake all kinds of international affairs and activities, as well as the commercial and other events of public and private organizations and enterprises. The permanent site thus fully lives up to its billing as the ‘international reception hall for the Greater Bay Area.’
