To commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, the International Finance Forum (IFF), in collaboration with over a hundred global financial and political leaders, has partnered with Paris Sciences et Lettres University (PSL) to launch the 'Global Sustainable Development Leaders Program.' This initiative marks the world's first Executive Doctorate in Public Affairs (EDPA) focused on Global Sustainable Development. Rooted in the Sino-French partnership but with a global perspective, the program bridges hemispheres, uniting the North and South, and connecting the West and East. Its mission is to discover and cultivate emerging leaders committed to advancing personal and global sustainable development.
The program has garnered the support of numerous stakeholders, including members of the IFF Board of Directors, Advisory, and Academic Committees. It is also personally endorsed by Han Seung-soo, IFF Co-Chair, President of the UN General Assembly's Council, inaugural UN Special Envoy for Climate Change, and former Prime Minister of South Korea. The opening ceremony for the EDPA program will take place during the IFF 2024 Annual Meeting from November 22 to 24.
We warmly welcome participation from all sectors to help cultivate exceptional leaders in sustainable development, contributing to global Sustainable Development Goals and ESG practices.
The year 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, continuing a rich year of exchanges, contacts, projects, and cooperation between our two countries.
As Interim President of PSL University and President of Université Paris Dauphine-PSL, I am delighted to celebrate with the International Finance Forum (IFF), the establishment of an Executive Doctorate in Public Affairs (EDPA). The high scientific and academic quality of this program will ensure its success.
The EDPA brings together distinguished professionals, who have gained significant experience in public affairs, a doctoral program that allows them to reflect on their professional experience. Designing, implementing, supporting, and evaluating public policies requires a thorough understanding of the analytical, listening, and innovative methods and tools developed by research. Recent and upcoming crises show how critical it is for decision-makers to possess a strong scientific foundation for high-quality public decision-making.
The EDPA provides advanced practitioners with extensive experience in public affairs an opportunity for further training through research. The complexity of public governance requires mastering both global dynamics (ecological, geopolitical, demographic, technological) and organizational dynamics (structure, strategy, management, culture) to continually innovate in public policies and organizations. This is both a challenge and a necessity for senior civil servants and executives in the public sector, high-level consultants and experts, senior executives of associations, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and senior executives in contact with the public sector. This professional diversity also fosters the diversification and innovation in approaches essential to research.
The faculty and international experts bring diverse perspectives to local, national, and international public affairs issues.
