Co-buiding the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, or the Belt and Road Initiative, is an initiative to promote progress in human civilization, and prosperity and development of BRI countries. It has drawn close attention and received positive responses from the international community in general. Uniting the former political leaders, scholars, business and financial institution leaders from BRI countries, the International Finance Forum (IFF) initiates the establishment of the Silk Road International Association (SRIA) to promote strategic development of the Initiative. Upholding the principle of wide consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, SRIA is committed to contributing to a community with a shared future for mankind, and building a strategic cooperation and dialogue mechanism that is international, market-oriented and civil society-friendly.
SRIA welcomes all international organizations, enterprises and individuals with the willingness to contribute to the Initiative and share its benefits. With joint efforts, we will pass Silk Road spirits to future generations, and rejuvenate the Silk Road civilization!
The Silk Road International Association (SRIA) was initiated by the International Finance Forum (IFF) on September 2nd, 2016 at the IFF Annual Meeting and officially inaugurated on June 17th, 2017, with the support from the United Nations (the U.N.), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Han Seung-soo, Kevin Rudd, Shaukat Aziz, Yukio Hatoyama, Jenny Shipley, HRH Prince Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Leung Chun-ying, Gu Shengzu, Jin Liqun and other former political leaders, scholars and major figures of financial institutions and enterprises from BRI countries.
SRIA is committed to building an open and interconnected global network. Through the Silk Road Spirit of "peace and co-operation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit", it unites international community, global market and private capital for building an effective cooperation and dialogue mechanism for the Silk Road.
The International Finance Forum (IFF) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental international organization founded in Beijing in October 2003, and established by leaders from over 20 countries, regions and international organizations including China, the United States, the European Union and the United Nations. IFF is a long-standing, high-level platform for dialogue and communication, and a research network in the financial realm. IFF aims to develop and encourage financial think-tanks within China and other emerging economies, and has been upgraded to F20 (Finance 20) status.
In the vision of "New Silk Road, New Development, New Structure", the SRIA is committed to grow into an international think tank and multilateral dialogue channel with a strategic vision. Through in-depth exchange, cooperation and coordinated efforts, parties of the network can enhance mutual trust, eliminate skepticism and form consensus. Better understanding and promoting the Silk Road Spirit, i.e. "peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit", will help us reaching the consensus of "open, inclusive, mutual benefit and win win",building an effective cooperation and dialogue mechanism for the Belt and Road,and reshaping the Silk Road civilization!
As a common vision of multiple parties, by bringing together the future elites, aggregating emerging wisdom, and gathering the backbone force, it is foreseeable that the establishment of SRIA will contribute to the Belt and Road strategy and global economic growth in the new era.
In the spirit of "New Silk Road, New Development, New Structure", SRIA is committed to serving as an international think-tank and multilateral dialogue channel with a strategic vision. Based in BRI countries, SRIA adopts an international approach to promote exchange, cooperation and comprehensive and sustainable growth in economy in these countries.
