IFF Welcomes the Delegation of Bank Indonesia

On February 22nd, Tutuk S.H. Cahyono, Chief Representative of Bank Indonesia's Beijing Representative Office, led a delegation to visit the Secretariat of the International Financial Forum (IFF) in Guangzhou. The delegation members were received by Song Min, member of the IFF Executive Committee and Executive Director of the IFF Academic Committee, Zhuang Jue, Deputy Secretary-General of the IFF, and Liao Xiaosheng, Director of the Financial Work Bureau of Nansha District, Guangzhou.



The parties involved in the meeting had pragmatic discussions on the comprehensive and deepening cooperation between the Indonesian financial sector and the International Financial Forum (IFF), jointly promoting high-quality collaborative development in relevant industries between China and Indonesia, and actively encouraging the participation of Indonesian financial institutions in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

Cahyono stated that Bank Indonesia highly recognizes the important role of the International Financial Forum (IFF) as a high-level permanent dialogue and communication platform in the global economic and financial field. He also highly appreciates the positive role that the IFF has played in promoting the construction of the "Belt and Road", promoting cooperation among emerging economies, and promoting the sustainable recovery of the global economy. The enormous potential of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is attracting a large number of Indonesian businesses, and cooperation between Indonesia and the Greater Bay Area is developing vigorously along a good track. The prospects for both parties' companies to work together in the financial sector are bright, and the Greater Bay Area is expected to become a new hub for Indonesian products and services to better access China and the world.

Song Min stated that the International Financial Forum (IFF), based in Nansha and coordinating with Hong Kong, Macau, and ASEAN partners such as Indonesia, will work together with Bank Indonesia's Beijing Representative Office and the Indonesian Consulate General in Guangzhou to promote multi-level and high-quality cooperation between China and Indonesia, China and ASEAN, and China and emerging economies. Zhuang Jue expressed that the IFF is willing to actively promote Indonesia's connection with China, the Greater Bay Area, and Nansha in various fields such as sustainable development, green finance, energy conservation, and carbon reduction, and strive to achieve tangible results during the "IFF 2023 Global Annual Meeting and Greater Bay Area International Financial Week".

Liao Xiaosheng stated that Indonesia is a major country in ASEAN and an important partner in the "Belt and Road" initiative. Indonesia's active participation in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with Nansha as the new hub of the international financial island, is of great significance. Nansha welcomes all sectors of Indonesia, especially the financial industry, to invest in Nansha and the Greater Bay Area. The Financial Work Bureau of Nansha District looks forward to jointly studying and promoting sovereign wealth fund investment cooperation with the International Financial Forum (IFF), the Indonesian Central Bank, and the Indonesian Consulate General in Guangzhou, and also looks forward to using high-end international financial platforms such as the IFF to promote Nansha's "going to Indonesia, going to the world."

During this visit, Cardoyo and his delegation also visited the permanent site of the International Finance Forum (IFF) and the Yuexiu International Financial Center, currently under construction, to inquire about and understand the relevant information of the construction of the international financial hub in the Greater Bay Area. Cardoyo showed a strong interest in the construction of the international financial hub in the Greater Bay Area and expressed his willingness to actively promote the participation of Indonesian financial institutions and enterprises. The Economic Consul Adhi Kawidastra and Andalusia T.T. Dewi from the Indonesian Consulate General in Guangzhou and Tian Yuan, Director of IFF's External Cooperation Department, accompanied the meeting.
